Welt- und Europameisterschaften im Tanzsport finden in der Schweiz ja nicht oft statt. Die letzte Internationale Meisterschaft liegt mittlerweile schon einige Jahre zurück. Zeit also, dass man sich wieder einmal auf einen solchen Grossanlass in der Schweiz freuen kann.

Nachdem der Welt-Amateurtanzportverband IDSF als Konkurrenz zum Welt Profiverband WDC eine Profiliga ins Leben gerufen hatte, wurde als Antwort vom WDC eine Amateurleague gegründet. So einfach ist es!

Am 6./7. November 2010 ist es soweit. Ich habe die Ehre, für die Amateurleague des WDC und für den neu gegründeten Schweizer Tanzsportverband SDSC die offenen Europameisterschaften der Amateure in den Standard- und Lateintänzen zu organisieren.

Die Internationalen Meisterschaften beim WDC sind offene Meisterschaften, im Gegensatz zur den Meisterschaften der IDSF, wo nur zwei Paare pro Land zugelassen sind. Ausgetragen werden diese offenen Europameisterschaften im Saal des Hotel Mövenpick in Regensdorf. Es werden an diesen beiden Tagen insgesamt 20 Wettkämpe ausgetragen. Von den Kinderkategorien bis zu den Junioren, von den Hauptklassen (Erwachsene) bis hin zu den Senioren. Insgesamt werden ca. 200 Paare erwartet.

Am Samstagnachmittag finden insbesondere die Vorrunden der Hauptklasse in beiden Disziplinen und am Abend die Semifinals und die Finals statt. Analog dem SWISS INTER CUP. Natürlich gibt es wieder Publikumstanz, und es wird ein interessantes Rahmenprogramm geboten. Als Orchester spielt die PEACOOCK Party Band. Selbstverständlich kann man im Vorfeld wieder ein Galamenü geniessen, wie es bei meinen Events üblich ist.

Zuschauer mit einem Abendticket haben auch wieder Gratiszutritt am Nachmittag. Der Eintritt für die Vorausscheidungen am Samstagnachmittag beträgt Fr. 30.-. Der Eintritt am Sonntag beträgt für den ganzen Tag ebenfalls Fr. 30.-. Diese Tickets bekommt man nur an der Tageskasse. Tickets für den Samstagabend gibt es hier im Vorverkauf mit den gleichen Preisen wie beim "SIC".

Seit 30 Jahren habe ich praktisch ununterbrochen Tanzsportevents organisiert. Diese Europameisterschaften werden meine letzten Tanzturniere sein. Ich erlaube mir, etwas kürzer zu treten und mich auch als Organisator "pensionieren" zu lassen. Ich hoffe natürlich, dass ich Sie am 6./7. November 2010 wieder in Regensdorf begrüssen darf, wenn die WDC-AL Europameister 2010 erkoren werden.

Liebe Tanzpaare / Dear competitors

I welcome you to the AL European Championships held on November 6/7th in Zurich-Regensdorf. It is an honour for me to organise this event for the WDC-AL and the Swiss Professional Dance Sport Council.

With my 30 years of experience in organising major international events I can offer you great conditions for a beautiful championship. The Mövenpick Hotel provides the perfect infrastructure with large changing rooms and a beautiful ballroom with dance floor.

I have arranged special conditions for you with three hotels located in Regensdorf. The prices stated are per room and include breakfast. I recommend you to book early! There are also two youth hostels located in Baden and Zurich, both approx. 15 min. by car from Regensdorf.

Regensdorf is easily accessible by car, train and bus. It is located only 15 min. from Zurich airport. There is a free shuttle bus to the Mövenpick hotel (attention: there are two Mövenpick Hotels. Select the shuttle bus to the one in Regensdorf, not Glattbrugg!).

Tickets for Saturday 6th November: These are all-day tickets and include a reserved seat at a table for the evening session. Price categories: CHF 65.-/ 75.-/ 85.-/ 95.-/ 105.-/ 115.-/ 120.-. All tables in the back rows are placed on a raised platform thus allowing a good view. Seating plan see under "Tickets - Saalplan/Estrade". Tickets must be ordered and paid for in advance. Payment please to the same account as the competitiors' entry fee account please. Your order will be confirmed and the tickets can be collected at the door.

Tickets for Sunday 7th November: No reservations possible. Tickets can be bought at the door for CHF 30.-

Tickets for competitors: You will receive your tickets when picking up your start number. The tickets will give you free admission to the ballroom and you may use any free seats in the afternoon. For the evening gala all tables are reserved for guests, but there will also be seats provided for competitors. Please follow the instructions of the staff for a smoothly running event.

Please make sure we have your entry by 16th October and your payment reaches us by 23rd October at the latest. Please pay and enter per couple. No late entries or payments accepted! For clubs and teachers there is a possibility to enter all their couples as group, just make a list and send it to couple@sigor.ch. For more information see "couple info".
